Have you never published a short story, in any language?
Cha: An Asian Literary Journal is looking for unpublished fiction writers to submit short stories that are set in Asia or explore Asian themes. If this describes you, please email us at editors@asiancha.com.
This is a special, one-time invitation with a limited submission window. We will accept only a very small number of works. The submission deadline is Friday 10 July 2026.
We encourage prospective contributors to become familiar with Cha before making enquiries or submitting work. Since its founding in 2007, Cha has published literature with a strong connection to Asia, whether through place, culture, history, or experience, and has developed a distinct editorial identity. Writers who have not spent time reading the journal are unlikely to submit work that aligns with our editorial vision and are therefore unlikely to have their work accepted. We recommend exploring the material available on our websites before submitting.
At present, we do not accept unsolicited fiction submissions from published writers. This one-off invitation is intended exclusively for writers seeking to publish their first-ever short story in any language. If you have previously published a work of fiction in any language, on any publicly accessible platform, you are not eligible for this invitation.
