We are very pleased to announce that we have formed a collaboration with the Leeds Centre for New Chinese Writing to republish selected reviews of translated titles from their platform.

These reviews have been running since at least 2017, when the Reading Chinese Book Review Network was established as part of the Centre’s efforts to promote contemporary Chinese literature in English translation.

These reviews, edited and reprinted on Cha, revisit titles that have been brought to the attention of English-speaking readers through the Reading Chinese Book Review Network.

The aims of this collaboration are to broaden the reach of insightful critical engagement with contemporary literature in translation, to celebrate the work of translators and reviewers, and to foster deeper appreciation of the cultural and literary contexts from which these titles emerge.
